Asian World Fab Cup
Bohol, Philippines, the venue of FAN1, was the epicenter of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake last October 15, 2013. More than 300 people perished and approximately 8000 houses were destroyed. A month later, Typhoon Haiyan hit Leyte, Philippines which caused heavy damages killing more than 10,000 and flattened most places in the area.
Earthquake and typhoon management is a common challenge for the entire Asia.
In FAN1, “Asian World Fab Cup” is designed to discuss and share what FabLab can do to cope with natural disasters. Participants will make prototype during FAN1 program and give presentations of the outcomes.
In the afternoon of the second day, the ”Asian World Fab Cup” will be explained in detail.
